String Quartet #10 in E-flat, Adagio and Scherzo: Prestissimo... by Franz Schubert (1797-1828)
Franz Schubert composed this piece of music in 1813 when he was just 16 years old. It was very
likely first performed by his own family members and was nicknamed the “Haushaltung” or
“Household” Quartet for this reason. The two Adagio and Scherzo movements here
are in turns beautiful and playfully teasing, and are a joy to listen to.
