a syp, a scuffle, stasis

It's finally ready!
Two decades ago, to celebrate Loon Lake Live hitting its 10 year mark, we gathered in a historic camp house on Loon Lake and made our first recording featuring John Winn's compositions and arrangements for strings, harp, clarinet, saxophone, and vocalist.
Last June three of those original musicians—and the same awesome engineer—reunited in a Richmond studio to bring you (wonderful) newer works by John Winn and genre‑blurring banjoist/composer Adam Larrabee.
The awesome result is a meticulously performed and beautifully engineered studio recording.
The single "Stasis" is available now!
The full album will be released on June 5.

MEET THE COMPOSERS 🎙️
"The piece that I wrote for the Loon Lake Group is called Seven Songs from the Sea, and it's a suite of pieces all based on the C major scale on every mode over the C major scale, but with a swashbuckling sort of pirate theme!"
Adam Larrabee
So I ended up kind of having a drinking theme with this piece, "Party Hopping", and the Waltz starts it, in an ABA song form. And this theme kind of takes us to each of the drinks that we sample as we hop from party to party...!
John Winn
